Kiltumper is a townland in the west of Ireland where we live and originally the birthplace of one set of my ancestors, the Breens. My grandfather was born in the cottage we now live in. We moved to Ireland from NY in the mid 80s and eventually wrote four non-fiction books, which we call The Kiltumper Quartet, about our experiences. The first one is available as an ebook.

In August 2021 a book called IN KILTUMPER A Year in an Irish Garden written by Niall and me, was published by Bloomsbury UK and USA. It’s a garden memoir, a record of the year of 2019 in which the turbines came to Kiltumper and my last year of cancer-recovery visits to oncology.
